Terms of use

Last updated 3 October 2026

The short version
  • Peerly is for students. Use your real name and keep your account to yourself.
  • Only share files you're allowed to share. You stay the owner of what you post.
  • Peerly never handles money. Deals and services are between you and the other student.
  • Be decent. No scams, harassment, cheating services or illegal items.

1. Who we are

Peerly is run by Peerly Concepts ("we", "us"). These terms are the agreement between you and us when you use the Peerly website or apps. By creating an account you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Peerly.

2. Who can use Peerly

Peerly is built for university students. You need to be at least 16 years old, give accurate details about yourself and where you study, and have only one account. If you use Peerly on behalf of a club or business, you confirm you're allowed to.

3. Your account

Keep your password private and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You're responsible for what happens under your account.

The "Verified student" badge means you confirmed an email address that belongs to your university. It isn't a background check, so still use good judgement with anyone you meet through Peerly.

Your university, faculty, department and course are set when you sign up. To change them, send a request from your profile and we'll check it with you.

4. What you share

You keep ownership of the files, listings and messages you post. You give us permission to store them, show them to other Peerly users and make copies needed to run the service (for example, previews and backups). This permission ends when you delete the content, except for copies other users already saved or that we must keep by law.

Only share what you have the right to share. Your own notes and past questions are usually fine. Textbooks, paid materials or anything a lecturer or publisher has said must not be shared are not. Uploads are reviewed before they appear, and we remove anything reported as infringing.

5. Things you must not do

6. Buying, selling and services

Peerly helps students find each other. We don't take payments, hold money, deliver items or guarantee anything another user offers. Any deal is between you and the other student, so agree on details clearly, meet in public places on or near campus, and inspect items before paying. Report anything suspicious and we'll look into it.

7. Reports and removals

You can report people and content inside Peerly. We may remove content, limit features or suspend accounts that break these terms or put other students at risk, and we'll tell you why where we can. If you think we got it wrong, you can ask us to look again.

8. The service itself

Peerly is free for students today. We may add, change or remove features. We work hard to keep it accurate and available, but we provide it "as is": course lists, materials and past questions come from students and departments, so always check important details (exam dates, course codes) with your department.

9. Our responsibility

To the extent the law allows, we aren't responsible for losses caused by other users, by deals made through Peerly, or by content shared on it, and our total responsibility to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the last twelve months (for a free account, zero). Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be limited.

10. Leaving Peerly

You can stop using Peerly at any time and ask us to delete your account from your profile. We may close accounts that break these terms. Sections 4, 6 and 9 keep applying after an account is closed.

11. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app before the change applies. Continuing to use Peerly after that means you accept the new terms.

12. The law that applies

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. We'll always try to sort out a problem with you directly first.

13. Contact
